Deux sites en anglais pour suivre l'évolution de Cozumel après Wilma et des récifs

Et pour les hotels, l'association des hotels

la plupart des grands resorts sont fermés, mais des petits hotels du centre et bb sont ouverts, les bateaux de croisières reviennent et la vie courante dans le centre a repris. Attention les dommages de construction sont assez impressionnants au vu des photos.

Released today is an official letter issued by the Hotel Association of Cozumel stating

General information:

Golf course to open with 9 holes on December 1 2005
Museum of Cozumel to be open on November 14
Atlantis Submarines reopens December 15
Fiesta Holidays opened for Snorkeling Tours
There is an important number of Dive Shops already open
Cozumels Airport open and working
90% of the island has electricity
95% of restaurants operating by November 14
95% of commerce opens November 14

As of today Cozumel has available 13% of the total rooms available on the island
December 15 - 31 1253 rooms available, 37%
January 1 - 15 1434 rooms available, 43%

Statement from Raul Marrufo, Director of the Cozumel Tourism Promotion Board.

We have made great progress this week and are grateful to our airline partners and many others who are assisting in our effort to ensure travelers are able to safely return to their homes in the wake of Hurricane Wilma.

We now turn our attention to rapid recovery and rebuilding, where necessary. Electricity has already been restored to much of Cozumel and we anticipate that limited cruise ship activity may resume as early as mid-November.

The majority of the downtown hotels sustained minimal damage and can complete minor repairs within days. While many of the waterfront resorts suffered extensive damage, several properties along the coast hope to be ready to accept guests by mid-November.

Officials are doing everything within their power to expedite the clean up so that Cozumel can resume business as usual by sometime in December.

Occidental just announced a re-opening date of 1/31/06. No further details were sent.


El Cozumeleño Beach Resort 1-Feb-06 31-Jan
Hotel has just announced a re-opening date of Feb 1, 2006.
Hotel is planning improvement projects to the entire resort
including restaurants, pools, bars and beach area along with
the two main buildings.


Hotel Cozumel & Resort 15-Nov-05 1-Dec
Partial re-opening on 11/15. Beach club will be re-opened by
Dec 15th - 100% operation (originally was going to be Dec 1
but pushed to the 15th). The Dive shop (Dive Paradise) will be
fully operational by 11/15/05.


Iberostar Cozumel 15-Feb-06 14-Feb
Soft opening is going to be Feb. 3 with the resort being ready
on Feb. 15th.


Melia Cozumel 26-Jan-06 15-Feb
Melia has just sent an announcement that this hotel is going to
be open on 1/26/06 instead of Jan. 14, 2006 as previously stated.


Occidental Grand Cozumel 31-Jan-06
Occidental just announced a re-opening date of 1/31/06. No
further details were sent.


Park Royal Cozumel 15-Jun-06 14-Jun
Severe damage to hotel's beach and moderate vegetation
damage. No structural damage. Hotel was still under
construction at the time Wilma hit.


Reef Club Cozumel 31-Mar-06 1-Apr
Hotel was originally scheduled to re-open on Dec 23rd, but upon further review hotel will now be reopening March 31,
2006
