We were at Sunscape Tulum in mid-January; there is construction (site preparation) going on on the south side of the property, but we did not find it objectionable at that time. Some earlier reports mentioned work going on well into the night -
we did not experience this at all.
Unless your room backs up to the construction area, I don't think it will be a problem at all.

We stayed at Sunscape Tulum in late January. We booked ocean view rooms which were right by the construction.
There was a little noise during the day, but never early in the morning or at night. I don't think it affected our stay at all. The great food and service more than made up for a little noise. Have fun!

Hi, I just returned from Sunscape Tulum,
There is MAJOR construction going on there. 1/2 of the resort is blocked off and it's not going to be done anytime soon. There was no work activity last week but they are building new buildings. The Beach is GARBAGE almost unusable. Bring beach shoes. The resort was overbooked because of a wedding, 80% before the wedding party arrived.

HI,
I sent them an email, as I heart about the construction going on and their
reply was only a new pool was in construction near the beach. The rest of the hotel was operational....

Yes, that is what I heard too. I did read somewhere that they may have the beach bar closed due to it though.

my travel agent told us to stay away from it. They won't be done with construction untill Dec.
Half the beach is closed ,the beach bar is closed and they are enlarging the resort. We are staying at the Gala Resort instead and the beach is supposed to be great. thereis coral at sunscape so it's rocky I love the beach and water since we have a pool here. Hope this helps. Pam
We called the Sunscape and they confirmed that they are doing some constructions: a new swimming pool and 4 new other buildings. The swimming pool bar is closed and half of the beach cannot be used.
To our opinion, it might be noisy and dusty...

I too contacted the resort. According to Susie at the concierge desk, the pool bar and beach bar are both open. They have had quite a bit of moisture and said there should be no issues with dust.
