Robinson club

Club Maeva Tulum Emily

Messagede Jane » 28 Juil 2005, 14:12

28/7

Re-opening date 8/1 at 90% operational[b] with no beach restaurant and sauna facility

Ouvrira le 1/8 à confirmer

From the desk of: Enrique Klein

As of July 21, 2005

At this time, we would like to share the status regarding Club Maeva Tulum as a result of hurricane Emily.

As you may know, all hotel guests were taken to a shelter located in Chetumal (south from Tulum). Passengers were returned to Cancun after the storm and with the assistance of your local representatives, were protected at other properties in Cancun proper. (Apple guests still at destination are presently staying at Riu Cancun & Riu Las Americas)

Currently the hotel has no electricity, phone service nor cell phone access. Local authorities expect to have these issues corrected in the next several days.

Overall, the hotel is in very good shape. As expected, we have a lot of cleaning to do, landscaping work as well as repairs to approximately 12 guests rooms with broken windows.

Our gym will be relocated to a temporary location in order to conduct repair work to this facility; however, gym service will be available.

Sauna facility will be out of service for the next 2-4 weeks.

Our beach palapa restaurant was damaged by the storm. This restaurant will be temporally closed. This facility will be fully operational within the next 3-4 weeks. Our management team will set up a temporary/alternate restaurant while the beach restaurant is under renovation in order to maintain original food and beverage offering. We will keep you posted with progress report.

On the positive side, Emily dumped tons of new sand to our beach. As you may know, Club Maeva Tulum beach area is known as one of the most beautiful sites in the Riviera Maya. This is due to the physical shape of the beach itself and the natural coral reef located just in front of the hotel. Today, our beach area is even nicer, wider and with plenty of white powdery sand!

For your information, Club Maeva Tulum will be re-opening by next Thursday, July 28, 2005. We expect the property to be at a minimum 90% operational with only a couple of issues pending, such as our beach restaurant and sauna facility.

our management team is working very hard to bring this resort back to normal so we can continue offering it to our mutual customers !!

As always, thank you for your terrific support towards Club Maeva Tulum. We are all extremely thankful that all our guests, staff and property are all safe and sound!

Wilma Club Maeva Tulum

Messagede Jane » 03 Nov 2005, 13:26

I just received this message from Club Maeva Tulum, we are scheduled to arrive there on November 8th.

Dear Joanna & Jon

Hi is Magda from Club MAEVA Tulum, just to inform you that

the hotel did not suffer much damage from Hurricane Wilma.

I will detail you the damages:

- Pier is damage

- Sauna and Gym will have to be finished from hurricane Emily

- Beach umbrellas on the north part of the beach will have to be rebuilt.

Apart from this Electricity is been provided by our emergency power plant, and telephones are not working, but according the information from the authorities, both services will be reestablished by the weekend.

All the rest of the hotel is fine, of course, the vegetation is a bit smashed but we are already working on that.

We will appreciate if you could still consider us for your wedding as planed, we understand that it depends on flights and if you need any pictures or more information please do not hesitate in contacting us to this mail.

Regards from paradise.

Club Tulum - Palace resorts ex Maeva [Xpu-Ha]

Renovations/Important Information:
Important Notice
*A 9-month renovation project will begin July 4, 2005 in the Akumal Building. Construction will be conducted Monday - Saturday from approximately 9am to 6 pm. This semi-secluded section is located at the extreme north end of the resort. The hotel will make every effort to minimize any inconveniences to guests.

PALACE RESORTS ACQUIRES NEW PROPERTY IN RIVIERA MAYA, MEXICO

Miami, Florida, July 10,2006 – Palace Resorts, the company that set the standard in five-star, all-inclusive resort accommodations, is pleased to announce the purchase of Club Maeva Tulum located in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico. Palace Resorts formally took over the 300 room property from the German company TUI in the recent months.
Club Maeva will continue to operate under its current name until December 22nd, after which it will officially change to Club Tulum. The resort will close in August 2007, to undergo a complete renovation to all rooms and common areas. It will then be fully integrated into the Palace Resorts’ brand, assuming a new name that has yet to be determined.

The upgrades to the resort will include the incorporation of a double-Jacuzzi in every room as well as renovations to the lobby and pool that will create a beautiful combination of spacious colonial design with touches of contemporary Mexican décor. Once the transition is complete, the resort will feature a variety of fine restaurants, bars and lounges, convention facilities and a state-of-the-art spa.
“This is a very exciting time for Palace Resorts,” said Roberto Chapur, President of Palace Resorts. “The addition of this beautiful resort now brings our family of all-inclusive properties to 11 and gives our guests yet another luxurious option when it comes to vacationing in Mexico.”
